Why do I do what I do? Why am I a Chiropractor?
All my life I have gotten great joy out of solving problems for people. As a Chiropractor I can help people solve the majority of their health problems. This is possible because your life and ability to heal flow from your brain, down your spinal cord and out the nerves of the spine. If this flow is at 100% you will be as healthy as you can possibly be. Spinal subluxations (damage to the spine) decrease this flow by some % and whatever is controlled by that nerve will become weak, unhealthy and eventually diseased. As a Chiropractor I use adjustments to incrementally reduce those subluxations and restore the nerve flow allowing the body to heal again. If I can keep those subluxations reduced for a lifetime there is no reason a person can't live a healthy active life into their 80's and beyond. That is why I do what I do!

Have you ever wondered what your spine's job is? You spine functions to protect the delicate communication between brain cell and tissue cell. If the spine is damaged what do you think would happen to that communication? Right! bad communication between brain cell and tissue cell. Chiropractic fixes spines and restores communication between brain cell and tissue cell.

Most people don't fully understand the Chiropractic principle so when they come to a Chiro for help they may not understand what the Chiro is trying to do. I being a Chiro know the vital importance of living a life FREE of subluxation. When someone comes to me for help I want to give them the best they can get but some times forget that some people DON'T want what chiro has to offer beyond pain relief. The first level of Chiropractic care is RELIEF CARE. This care is simply to get people out of pain as quick as possible and not see them again till they hurt. This is a great alternative to the medical approach to drugging a symptom and not addressing the underlying cause. However Relief care leaves the patient with the core problem that will eventually cause problems again when it gets bad enough and has not had a chance to optimize the patients spine and health.
MAINTENANCE CARE is what everyone SHOULD choose. This level of care not only achieves pain relief but goes further to stabilize all areas of spinal weakness and then recommends periodic checkups to ensure its doing well and address any problems that are brewing BEFORE health is lost or the patient has pain. Most chiros will lay out a plan of Maintenance care for their pts but not all will accept it. With this in mind make sure your chiro understands your level of commitment to your care.
Can you imagine a world without dental care? Imagine if you will no way to care for your teeth. Brushing and flossing maybe but no way to fill cavities, straighten teeth, treat gum disease ect... What would that world look like? You got it, a world full of nasty, stinky toothless mouths. When your tooth hurt your options would be to go to your family Doctor who could give you pain killers or he could send you to a surgeon who could cut it out. Sadly, when it comes to the spine and nervous system. 95% of the population lives like there is no way to take care of it. Only 5% of the population sees a chiropractor and a great deal of that % probably don't get specific chiropractic adjustments. What is the result? Exactly what we see to day. A bunch of bad spines and very sick people. Make sure you take care of your spine with good specific chiropractic care. You only get one spine and it's health dictates your health.
